What Is BATTLX? Dark Fantasy Combat Powered by GRAM
A closer look at BATTLX, the dark fantasy combat game published through Playdq, its Telegram Mini App, and the GRAM economy behind it.
BATTLX is the first game released through the Playdq platform, and it is built around a real economy: one where the items and assets players earn are genuinely theirs, verifiable on-chain rather than stored only in a database a studio controls.
Telegram-native by design
BATTLX runs as a Telegram Mini App. Instead of asking players to find an app store listing and create another account, BATTLX opens directly inside Telegram, a platform hundreds of millions of people already use every day.
An economy on GRAM
BATTLX’s in-game economy runs on GRAM, giving BATTLX something most combat games do not have: assets that live on-chain, verifiable independently of the studio.
Payments inside BATTLX follow a dual model:
- Telegram Stars handle purchases made inside the Telegram Mini App itself.
- GRAM payments are available through the external battlx.com website, for players who want to transact directly on-chain.
Free to play, not free of choices
BATTLX does not require payment to play. The core game is free to enter, and no wallet or crypto holdings are needed to try it. At the same time, BATTLX is not entirely without a commercial layer: vouchers available during the soft launch, and certain in-game items, can be purchased if a player chooses to. Nothing about that optional layer is required to participate.
Designing the economy deliberately
A combat game with real economic weight lives or dies on its pacing. Economy simulations run during development identified a real risk: early progression can feel too scarce if key resources are not discoverable enough for new players. The response was to make core economy values configurable rather than fixed, so pacing can be tuned using real player data instead of guessed at upfront.
A phased launch, on purpose
BATTLX is not launching all at once. The current phase is a soft launch via voucher at voucher.battlx.com, a no-signup way to get an early look, using self-contained, cryptographically signed codes enforced as one-time use on the backend. From there, the game moves into its full Telegram Mini App rollout, with the on-chain economy layer available alongside it.
